Virtual Reality Training

Virtual Reality Training

R.I.D.E is an acronym we use here at AustechVR. If something is either Risky, Impossible, Dangerous or Expensive to do in real life – Then it is a perfect candidate for Virtual Reality Training!

We never want to put people or expensive equipment at risk or in Danger at any time particularly when training staff.

If something is near on impossible to replicate in the real world for training purposes the again Virtual Reality can put people into that situation repeatedly and consistently.

Lastly, if it is very expensive to get people to the correct location or it is very expensive to set up the training in real life having a Virtual Reality Training Application will not only save you loads of time but also money.

Some facts on VR training:

  • The brain absorbs 33% more effectively in VR than from Video training.
  • People are 20% more likely to change behaviors following a VR experience.
  • Up to 60% savings on Installation and Maintenance costs in some industries.

Some basic differences between traditional learning methods vs Virtual Reality:

Virtual Reality

  • Active “real” environment
  • Fully Immersive
  • VR Equipment
  • Individual or Group
  • Self or Guided
  • Production Intensive
  • Increased engagement/contextual Clues
  • Develop Skills in a safe environment
  • Scalable and Trackable
  • Easy to Access
  • Repeatable and consistent experiences with the ability to offer variety.

E-Learning

  • Active/Passive
  • Non-Immersive
  • Mobile or PC
  • Individual
  • Self
  • Simple Production/Update

Video

  • Passive
  • Moderately Immersive
  • Mobile or PC
  • Individual
  • Self
  • Production Intensive

Ultimately the ability to have someone develop their skills in a safe and controlled environment for as long as is needed is powerful. Along with that, we see the increased engagement whilst training and repeatable and consistent experiences VR Training is a winner.
